ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CELEBRATED 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY IN EPIC

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly has celebrated the 67th Independence Day in grand with impressive audience.At exactly 9:45am at Barekese Senior High School premises, Barekese circuit all dignitaries, and all varied in the district were seated, ready to honour the festivity.

District Coordinating Director (DCD) Mr. S.M Abdul-Rahman, Chief Superintendent Hilda Akarimanga, District Commander, the District Education Director, Mr. Frank Duah Boateng, Nana Osei Frimpong & entourage-Representative of Barekesehene, Staffs, Assembly members, teachers, traders, ambulance services and everyone who formed part of the celebration were among the tall list of dignitaries that ensured that the national celebration became a glamour.About Nineteen (19) schools were selected for the district to join in the district level commemoration.

67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Eight (8) primary schools, eight (8) Junior High Schools, two senior high schools and one senior/technical school in the district namely Barekese Senior High (BASEC), Osei Tutu Senior High (OT) and Spiritan Senior Technical School were present. Parade was successful as BASEC provided cadet corps and a joint band from Hope American International School (HAIS). In her absence the DCD addressed the gathering, Mr Abdul-Rahman, stressed on how valuable criticism has strengthened the country’s democracy. According to him, the peace the country has enjoyed has to do with the ‘democratic’ governance the country has adopted and citizens playing a unique role. Which he was very optimistic would better the country. The DCD encouraged Ghanaians to resort to multi-party system and refrain from using violence to address issues.

Representing the Barekesehene, Nana Osei Frimpong advised Ghanaian students to be more democratic and unified towards development for the country. He believed the youth were the generation to continue what would be left and has been left by heroes of the land as were honour the day. At the end of the match past, various schools in primary and Junior High Schools category who earned points were awarded with balls, jerseys, and a participated certificate for wonderful display.Osei Tutu Senior High School and Barekese Senior High School (BASEC) tied at the second category whereas the Spiritan Senior/Technical School picked the ultimate prize in that category with a trophy, and a certificate.
