DCE AND MP COMMISSIONS A 3 UNIT CLASSROOM IN MARBAN.

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the District Assembly, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah including other dignitaries have commissioned a 3 Unit Classroom block built under One Million One Constituency Project at Marban in Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.

The colourful and important event was held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Marban on its D/A Primary/JHS School grounds.

In attendance were the MP for the area, Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio, the abled DCE, Hon Rebecca Yeboah, distinguished NPP Constituency Chairman, Hon. Abdul Salam Issah, the District Education Director, Mr Frank Duah Boateng, Assembly members, New Patriotic Party (NPP),
faithfuls, Selected staff of the District Assembly, Nana Mensah Ababio II, Marbanhene who also chaired the occasion and many other dignitaries.

DCE

Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, in her brief address assured gatherers that before her term in office she would have the district elevated to Municipality.

She added that though the Covid-19 pandemic has hanged many projects but the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency has assured to complete those project in his constituency.

Hon. DCE appealed to her people and the constituents to exercise patience and support the government, MP and her administration to realizing those projects.

MP

Mounting the podium, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency (ANNC), Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio, touched on achievement made so far in the office for the constituency and appealed to his constituents to
refute claims made against his office.

According to him, government’s commitment to develop the country led to the One million dollars per constituency policy and Ghanaians are witnesses to the tremendous projects surfaced out of the initiative.

The Deputy Minister enumerated projects the One million per constituency has so far achieved. Bridges over the Odei river in Wurapong, bridge at Amakye-Bare, Chip compound due commissioning at Mfensi, educational infrastructure among others were said.

Education

Hon. Benito commended the government and the Atwima Nwabiagya North NPP Constituency Chairman, Hon. Abdul Salam Issah and the District Assembly for seeing through the completion of the unit classroom amidst constructor challenges.

To make public school infrastructure more robust, the Member of Parliament has assured constituents of commissioning the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) 6 unit classroom at Mfensi, a story building.

That would not end his ambition, the able MP praised the government for making development possible in the various Senior High Schools in his district and gracing the Former President with a Senior High Technical School (SHTS) at Darbaa.

He was certain that government would never end the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy. Adding that School caterers would soon see increment in fees and bounce back to the programme.

Road

Being certain, the Member of Parliament (MP) said that the Asoufua to Offinso and Barekese to Adugyama roads would be constructed.

According to him the construction is in four (4) phases; first (1st) phase would be from Atafoa to Asoufua, Asoufua to Barekese would be second (2nd), Barekese to Offinso would be third (3rd) and Barekese to Adugyama would be fourth (4th) respectively by the contractor on Atafoa road.

He said, Adankwame to Ntensere, Akropong to Bokankye, Achiase, among other deplorable roads would soon see contractors on site as funds to contractors according to him have being paid.

Hon. Benito appealed to his constituents to be with him in the journey as more development is set to come.

Health

He praised the workable and promised fulfiller President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo for on the ongoing Agenda 111 hospital at Barekese.

The MP was certain that the hospital among others will soon be completed and commissioned as assured by the contractors on site. And believed it would create jobs for his people.

Security

The Deputy Minister, commended stakeholders for the construction of a District Police Headquarters which is due commissioning and would soon have other police command offices at Koforidua, Akropong and Asoufua.

He was without doubt that security is of very essence and government would do everything possible to make that effect.

Economy

MP for the constituency was confidence that government would be able to revive the economy and ease the hardships on Ghanaians.

He said, things are getting better with the economy as fuel prices continue to decline whilst cedis keeps appreciating.

Tree planting

The Chairman of the Green Ghana initiative, urged teachers and Ghanaians in general to participate fully in the exercise as that will help in the recent climate change as well as better atmospheric nature to the nation.

He commended the Nkawie Forestry of which Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly formed part of, for emerging as the overall best in the 2021/2022 Green Ghana project.

He appealed to educational stakeholders to adopt the Greening project of their environment to prevent disasters and other unforseen circumstances against their structures.

The MP encouraged each and everyone to cultivate the habit of maintenance. He believed maintenance and sustainability would make a bright future for the nation.

Nana Mensah Ababio II, Marbanhene praised the government, MP and DCE for massive improvement made since the carving was done in 2018 from now Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal and placed various request at their feet.

Commissioning

The MP was joined by DCE, teachers Marbanhene, NPP party faithfuls and other community members to make the 3 unit classroom officially opened to students.
