4 UNIT RENOVATED CLASSROOM AND OFFICE COMMISSIONED.

A community initiated project is one aspect of development the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly encouraged philanthropists and other wealthy person to be part of.

Such happened on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Barekese Methodist D/A Primary C where a 4 unit renovated classroom and a headmistress office was commissioned.

           

The dilapidated structure has been housing students for years without any facelift.

The concern was drawn and through the able effort of the Assembly member for Barekese, Asenie, Marban Electoral Area, Hon. Ernest Adusei, Dr and Mrs. Kwame Afreh Adusei based in the United States of America (USA), the structure has received a facelift.

Aside the refurbishment of the said structure, a ball defense barricade was raised to protect the roofing from early damage since the siting of the school is near a football pitch.

It appealed to stakeholders far and near to assist with an extension of the barricade so the roofing could not be ruined by football activities in the school and of the community.

In attendance were the Representative of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, Ms Adwoa Yeboah Konadu, the Deputy Coordinating Director (DCD), Hon. Ernest Adusei, Assembly members for Barekese/Asenie/Marban Electoral Area, Convenor for Social Services, member of Justice and Security Committee, and member of Gender Committee, Representative of the District Education Director (DED), Mr Frank Duah Boateng, was Mr Simon Aboagye Poku, Barekese Circuit Supervisor (CSO), District Information Officer (DIO), Mr Augustine Agyei, Hon. Eric Opoku Fofie, Assembly member for Fufuo Electoral Area, teachers, students, parents and representatives of the philanthropist.

In all addresses, maintenance culture was propagated. Teachers, students, Heads and people in the community were entrusted to sanitize the environment whereas making sure the building serves it purpose without threat to students or education in totality.

And to the philanthropist, Dr and Mrs Kwame Afreh Adusei, they acknowledged for their relentless devotion towards development in his home and country as whole. They asked more hands be onboard for the development of the district rest on not only government but entirely.

Hon. Ernest Adusei on Dr and Mrs Kwame Afreh Adusei behalf donated a two LED Hisense Television to assist with education of the pupils in the Kindergarten (KG) class. A recent 2 unit classroom, a washroom, a store room and a headmaster’s office he recently built and commissioned for the pupils in that class.

         

Received the item, headmaster and teachers were grateful to the uncountable gesture Dr and his wife have show towards education in the community. And wished him and family well in their businesses.

DATA COMPILATION WORKSHOP HELD IN ANNDA.

The Ghana Statistical Services (GSS) has held an itinerary data compilation workshop for Metropolitan, Municipal, District Assemblies (MMDAs) and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government in the country.

Of it the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly (ANNDA) had it’s share of the training on Thursday March 30th and Friday March 31st, 2023 at the District Coordinating Director’s office of the Assembly.

             

 

The exercise was to have a harmonized report among government agencies through technology.

According to the facilitators, there were always delay in reports (be monthly, quarterly or annually) from these agencies. Which he said did not inform decisions.

They believed and anticipated that digitizing and statistically reporting on it will be of greater impact on governance.

According to the lead facilitators, Mr Ricahrd Asare Bediako and Ms. Angela Osei-Tutu (GSS) coupled with other officers from GSS and Ministry of Finance (MoF), the indicators for the exercise was through a collaborated work with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ghana Education Service (GES), Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Finance, Ghana Police Service (GPS), Departments of Agric, National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), MMDAs, MDAs, and other stakeholders in rural governance of which the final template emanated.

In attendance was the District Coordinating Director (DCD) of Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman, Data compilation officers of affected agencies, other selected departments/units in the district, officials from GSS – Regional and National, and Ministry of finance

Observation gathered from participants during the orientation was that the data requested was much detailed and would not be easy to gather at a possible period, but would worked to the expectations of the district, regional and national admiration.

Stakeholders commended GSS for the initiative. They were certained that plan geared towards development and decisions in the coming years and hoped all other governmental activities are technologically enhanced.

In course of the training a brand new Dell laptop was presented to the district for the District Statistician to garner quality data with no challenges to that effect.

The Assembly was charged to supervise over the entire exercise and support the scheduled office to deliver.

DCD, on behalf of the Assembly commended the initiators and the team for such a wonderful project. He assured them of the Assembly’s readiness to assist and make better input in the whole exercise.

DEPARTMENTAL HEADS BRIEFING HELD.

The Heads of various Departments/Units and Directorates of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District has been engaged.

The meeting was to report on the state at which each office is, challenges and the way forward. The circumstances helped management to assess performance exhibited by those offices/officers at each post.

The scheduled gathering was held on Tuesday, 21st of March, 2023 at the District Coordinating Director’s (DCD) office.

Participants were officers and Directors of Education, Health Directorates, Agric Departments, Works, Information Services, Social Welfare and Community Development Departments, Environmental, Budget, MIS, Statistics, Revenue, Administration, Records, Physical planning Units, NCCE, Birth and Death Registry, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Finance, Radio, Development Planning and all who formed part of management’s caucus.

           

Charing the meeting in place of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Rebecca Yeboah Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman, the District Coordinating Director (DCD) after reports, acknowledged officers for tremendous work input made. He appealed to heads to improve beyond measure amidst faced challenges.

DCD was of the view that challenges are inevitable but with well built strategies those fuss could be overcome.

ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH STAFF WELFARE MEETING HELD

The Constitution of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Staff Association Section 13 clause 1 states that the “Executive Committee shall submit to the General meeting not more than three (3) months after the end of each fiscal year, an Annual report dealing with the activities and financial operations of the Association during the year.” pursuant to the section the committee has met with members of the Association to report on its financial standing as well as other issues of concerns to members.

Members engagement came about on the Thursday, of March 16, 2023 at the District Assembly’s Conference Hall.

   

Chairing the meeting was the Chairman of the Association, and District Physical Planning Officer – Mr Franz Ebo Yartel, assisted by the able committee members; Ms. Adwoa Konadu Yiadom – Financial Secretary and Head of the Central Administration, Mrs. Kasia Tabiri, Treasurer and Senior Human Resources Manager, Mrs. Francisca Akolgoma Abagna – Secretary and Assist. Director IIA, Mr Augustine Agyei – Organiser and District Information Officer with a special guest who is a member and the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman coordinating all event to its success.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Franz Ebo Yartel said dues payment and membership has become a challenged to the progress of the Association. He appealed to members to effect payments whilst staff who are not members be encouraged to join.

According to him, the financial standing of the Association was not one to write home about after the report and members should make input. He assured members of a better future and days ahead if members would be more committed than ever.

In his address the DCD, appealed to members to throw their maximum weight at the Association. He assured members of a collaborative work of the Assembly and the Association.

He prayed members let go of the bygone whilst siding with the Executives on current discussion for the betterment of the Association.

Feedback gathered revealed that some members nearly dropped out of the Association due to some persistent errors and importantly lope holes in its organisation of events but assured of bouncing back and ready to support if what were discussed would implemented.

MAIDEN BIG FAMILY TOUR ORGANIZED FOR STAFF OF ANNDA

It was quite a memorable moment when staff of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District held a maiden family refreshing tour at the Dam site.

The joint tour was well organized by the District Staff Welfare Association (ANNSWA).

An Association barely inaugurated in the year 2022 and for the few months can hold it’s chest high with numerous notable benefits members have received.

From weddings, funerals, and others members in “good standing” have gracefully being honoured with.

The Association relentlessly took staff and members of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) processing site at the Barekese Dam for a trip.

     

       

According Mr Franz Ebo Yartel, Chairman for the Association, explained that the Staff/members tour was to strengthen the working bond of staff and members as well as established a definite love among themselves.

He was certained that what the Association has done would leave a mark of recognition to staff and encouraged others to join.

The participants visited the Barekese Dam site on Thursday, March 6, 2023 to break-off for the Easter Celebration.

Mr Dari Salifu, the Maintenance Officer (MO) being the tour guide for the day took staff through the very processes that drops water at ones end. Through a tunnel underpass to the surface of the man-made dam where the water is drawn, to the disinfectants used to treat the water, laboratory that critically review the water and where it was stored for distribution.

Being a virgin pilgrimage it was treated with utmost importance and fun.

Among the participants were the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman, District Finance Officer (DFO), Mrs. Regina Ayireogye, and other supporting staffs.

Staffs who opined to this report commended the Executives of the Association and hoped more of such trips are made in the coming calendar of the Association’s itinerary.

They were optimistic that such joint activities would make the District Assembly more strong and loving.

ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY CELEBRATED 66TH INDEPENDENCE DAY IN MEMORY

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly has cellebrated the 66th Independence Day in epic with impressive audience.

At exactly 11:00am at Barekese Senior High School, Barekese circuit all dignitaries, and all varied in the district were seated, ready to honour the festivity.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, District Coordinating Director Mr. S.M Abdul-Rahman, the Presiding Member, Hon. Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, Superintendent Hilda Akarimanga, District Commander, the District Education Director, Mr. Frank Duah Boateng, Nana Barekesehene, Heads of Departments, Assembly members, and everyone who formed part of the celebration were among the tall list of dignitaries to ensure that the national event became a success.

About Twenty-one (21) schools selected within the district to join in the district level.

The two senior high schools and one senior/technical school in the district namely Barekese Senior High (BASEC), Osei Tutu Senior High (OT) and Spiritan Senior Technical School were present. Parade was successful as BASEC provided cadet corps and band.

In her speech for the celebration, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, appealed to dignitaries, and all persons gathered to be united.

According to her, being united was the only input Ghana could realize its objectives. She cautioned others who prefer violence over peace and unity to desist from it as it would not benefit the country and her district. The DCE urged Ghanaians in her district to make the Ghanaian mentality felt as the only nation at hand is Ghana.

At the end of the match past, various schools in primary category who earned points were awarded with balls and jerseys. Those in the Junior High Schools category were respectively awarded for wonderful display.

Spiritan Senior/Technical School emerged as the third winner, with Osei Tutu Senior High School placed second whilst Barekese Senior High School in the SHS category picked the ultimate prize in that category with a trophy.

 

The Overall 2022 BECE candidate Fati Abubakar of the Asamang D/A Junior High School was awarded a brand-new laptop with an assurance from Member of Parliament (MP) to support her semester finances. Meanwhile, she had received a mattress, pillow, and chop box by Dr. Lawyer Dickson Osei Assibey for such emergence.
