A community initiated project is one aspect of development the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly encouraged philanthropists and other wealthy person to be part of.
Such happened on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Barekese Methodist D/A Primary C where a 4 unit renovated classroom and a headmistress office was commissioned.
The dilapidated structure has been housing students for years without any facelift.
The concern was drawn and through the able effort of the Assembly member for Barekese, Asenie, Marban Electoral Area, Hon. Ernest Adusei, Dr and Mrs. Kwame Afreh Adusei based in the United States of America (USA), the structure has received a facelift.
Aside the refurbishment of the said structure, a ball defense barricade was raised to protect the roofing from early damage since the siting of the school is near a football pitch.
It appealed to stakeholders far and near to assist with an extension of the barricade so the roofing could not be ruined by football activities in the school and of the community.
In attendance were the Representative of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, Ms Adwoa Yeboah Konadu, the Deputy Coordinating Director (DCD), Hon. Ernest Adusei, Assembly members for Barekese/Asenie/Marban Electoral Area, Convenor for Social Services, member of Justice and Security Committee, and member of Gender Committee, Representative of the District Education Director (DED), Mr Frank Duah Boateng, was Mr Simon Aboagye Poku, Barekese Circuit Supervisor (CSO), District Information Officer (DIO), Mr Augustine Agyei, Hon. Eric Opoku Fofie, Assembly member for Fufuo Electoral Area, teachers, students, parents and representatives of the philanthropist.
In all addresses, maintenance culture was propagated. Teachers, students, Heads and people in the community were entrusted to sanitize the environment whereas making sure the building serves it purpose without threat to students or education in totality.
And to the philanthropist, Dr and Mrs Kwame Afreh Adusei, they acknowledged for their relentless devotion towards development in his home and country as whole. They asked more hands be onboard for the development of the district rest on not only government but entirely.
Hon. Ernest Adusei on Dr and Mrs Kwame Afreh Adusei behalf donated a two LED Hisense Television to assist with education of the pupils in the Kindergarten (KG) class. A recent 2 unit classroom, a washroom, a store room and a headmaster’s office he recently built and commissioned for the pupils in that class.
Received the item, headmaster and teachers were grateful to the uncountable gesture Dr and his wife have show towards education in the community. And wished him and family well in their businesses.
