DCE CLEANS UP ASOUFUA

The Honourable DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly, Rebecca Yeboah has organized a maiden clean-up exercise in Asoufua as part of her district-wide clean-up initiative.

The initiative according to her will be held every last Friday of every month.

Hon. Yeboah said this during a massive cleanup activity held on Friday, 26th April 2024 as Asoufua in the Atwima Nwabiagya North.

The exercise brought together the DCE, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, Asoufuahemaa Nana Baanie Ahenkan II, staff of the district, Asoufua Assemblyman, Hon. Osei Kwaku Michael, Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Hon. Abdul-Salam, DCD, Mr S.M Abdul Rahman, town folks, Information Services Department, Police, Zoomlion, and all others who matter in the exercise.

Speaking to the report, Hon. DCE expressed how developments have progress under the government in the area of roads of which her district has benefitted and ready to benefit another.

She therefore entreated everyone to patronize the activity at the terminal and not pick transport from the road side and any driver apprehended will face the law.

Hon. Yeboah cautioned onlookers, drivers, traders, pedestrians, and individuals not to dump rubbish haphazardly for it only choke drains resulted in flood and other

unwarranted disasters rather in bins and other regulated dumping sites.

She was grateful to her staff for the support, the party, Asoufua Obaapanin, Assembly member and his Unit Committee members, and people of Asoufua not leaving out everyone who made the event more than a success.

In an interview, the Assembly man for the electoral area, Hon. Osei Kwaku Michael expressed a heartfelt of gratitude to all and sundry and asked his people to be law abiders whereas government be more enforcer of the law.

He added, through the Pentecost Church Asuofua wings the community has trash bins which would be placed at various vantage point so waste could be dumped in.

Nana Baanie Ahenkan II, Asuofua Obaapanin commended the DCE, staff and all sundry for a watchful scene of cleanup exercise held in her community. she prayed more of such would implemented elsewhere for the good of our country.

GOV’T SUPPLIES OVER 9,000 PALM SEEDLINGS FREE TO FARMERS IN ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH.

The Government of Ghana through the Minerals Commission has supplied over 9,792 palm seedlings been the first trench to farmers in Atwima Nwabiagya North.

The Alternative Livelihood Programme (ALP) of the Minerals Commission is set to reclaim lands lost to illegal mining activities known as (galamsey).

The programme offers farmers at various illegal mining sites with palm seedlings and other plants best for such destroyed lands.

ALP as an extended programme reached farmers in Atwima Nwabiagya North on Thursday, 25th of April 2024 at the premises of the District Assembly though not an illegal mining district but for local development.

Staff of the Agric Department in the district made sure farmers who arrived from all corners of the district received quantities due.

In speaking to this report, the Director of Agric, Mrs. Grace Achiaa, was grateful to Government and the Mineral Commission of Ghana for such a thoughtful alleviation

and prayed beneficial farmers would make use of the seedlings and not exploit them.

She called on the youth to venture in agriculture as the avenue has become more lucrative and technological inclined to be part.

Beneficial farmers could not hid their joy but to expressed in words of gratitude to government, the assembly, department of agric and all who played a role in the distribution of the seedling.

AGRIC CLIMATE INNOVATION EXHIBITION HELD IN MARBAN

PHG Foundation Africa, an NGO has collaborated with the Dept. of Agriculture in the Atwima Nwabiagya North to hold an innovation exhibition for farmers and talented individuals in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of Marban community park.

The exhibition was held on Friday, 12th of April, 2024.

In the event were the Marbanhene who doubled as chairman for the event, Nana Okumanini Baah Asare II and chiefs, Marban queen mother, Marban Imam, Abdul Rahman Mohammed, District Information Officer, Mr Augustine Agyei, District Director of Agric, Mrs. Grace Achiaa and her Agric staff, farmers, Assembly member for Marban/Asenie/Barekese Electoral Area, Hon. Atta Kwasi and his Unit Committee members, PHG Team Members, and other interested individuals.

Farmers presented their craft works made from farm produces such as seasoning powders, fruit mix, bathing soaps and gels, fruit juices, Banku mix powder, and soil were earthenware, Gyapa coal pot, and from other creative items such as beads made bags, and more to the team for selection and support.

Chairman for the event who doubled as the Marbanhene expressed his profound gratification to the organisers and advised the youth to venture into other lucrative disciplines of businesses especially farming for it has countless advantages.

He opined that farming has seen lives transformed with and seeking employment at that sector will reduced government burden on unemployment rate in the country.

Agribusiness men and women present were excited and had a common goal that the foundation will acknowledged their hard work, more importantly government will put more than enough to enrich their farming business.
